Following the basic principles of
the traditional poster contest rules, participants may also use Online Tools to
construct their submissions. Below are two suggestions for teachers who may not
be familiar with these sites. Other formats/sites (such as YouTube, WeVideo,
StupeFlix, iMovie, and PowToon) are acceptable. You will find links to these and other tools here.
Registration form: Please read the rules and requirements before submitting your projects.
Video time limit: 3 minutes. Please make sure that
the video is public so that the judges can view it.
After video/web posters are
complete, submit project and student information via the on-line form.
If you are sharing a YouTube video, please use the “Share link” located under the
video. The video should be "unlisted."

the AATF YouTube Channel and the National French Week blog. (http://nfwposter.blogspot.com/)
www.edu.glogster.com – Glogster is a
collaborative poster building site that allows designers to add text, pictures,
audio, and links to a virtual poster. The poster can be shared and embedded
with other users. To use Glogster as the National French Week poster medium,
choose one of the following options.
A teacher may create an account
for his/her own students using the edu.glogster.com site. The teacher should
use the “50 free students” account level. After registering for this account,
teachers will provide the user name and passwords for his/her students.
1. Upon completion of a submission, click on the
“Save/publish” button at the bottom of the Glog poster.
2. Name the poster using the student’s FIRST
name and the name of the school.
3. Click on the “Finished” button and then
Save&Publish. Please ensure that the project is listed as “Public” so
judges can view it.
4. “What next?” When offered this option, click
on “View this Glog.”
5. At the bottom right corner of the Glog are
options to share the poster. Click on “Embed into your page.”
6. Copy the ENTIRE embed code in the box.
7. Paste the embed code in the entry form
located on-line
www.animoto.com/education – Animoto allows users to create engaging and fully animated slideshows
using digital photos and video synced to music.
1. Teachers should create a free unlimited account.
2. Choose a theme for the video. Do not choose
themes marked “Pro” as they require a premium account.
3. Upload saved pictures and videos and arrange them
accordingly. Pictures and videos may be
from a variety of sources, but may not include any copyrighted or protected
materials.
a. Use the “+ add more” button to add more
pictures and videos.
b. Use the “A – add text” button to emphasize
thoughts and opinions.
4. Click on “Done” when all visual elements have
been added. Videos can be edited at any time, even after publishing.
5. Choose music from the Animoto selection. If
using an MP3 file, make sure that you own the rights to the song. Video
submissions that do not meet this regulation will be not be accepted.
6. Finalize the video by titling the video and
adding student’s FIRST name and school in the “Producer name” box.
7.
The video
will go through a composing process. It is not required to remain on the page
during this time. Upon completion of processing, Animoto will send a message to
the user e-mail account notifying completion of the video.
8.
Submit
entries using the on-line form. Use the video link to submit and please
allow the video to be embedded.
